Regular Friday Stuff

Good evening,

This Friday was much like most of the others. A touch of Oral Language...


(in both English and Maori!)

...a bit of a run outside...


Then some Puff the Magic Dragon art...




...which'll take a while to finish.

Then we went for a trot to the library...



...before assembly, free time and ending the day with a game of tag!

Wobbly Thursday

Good afternoon,

We had a wee shake at lunchtime, which none of the children noticed, but those of us snoozing quietly in the corner of the staffroom (read me!) were briefly stirred from our repose...enough at least to get another coffee!

Subsequent to that we continued our Sacrament lessons by defining Holy...



...and then we discussed why some objects are really special.


After handwriting, we looked at how birds fly. Specifically, how they flap their wings.


So of course, we practiced.

Wing-ed Wednesday

Good afternoon,

After coming back from Fitness...


...(and some lunch) we discussed the meaning of the word "Ritual".

A ritual is doing something the same way every time.

So we listed some.

After R.E. we kinda skipped handwriting and went straight to Topic. How things fly.

On Monday we listed things that fly...


...to which I applied Active Inspire's handwriting recognition tool, and today we sorted them into what God made, what Man made and a bit of both...


So, of course, we popped outside for a little flying practice of our own.


And a good time was had by all.

Remember, no trip tomorrow, it's been postponed 'till later.

Fine Day Tuesday

Good afternoon,

And what a lovely afternoon it is. (I'm sure I've said that before!)

We had quite an active day today.

A bit of Jump Jam...



...and a bit of soccer...




...with a bit of singing in between. Including this perennial favourite.

First Day Monday

Good evening,

And welcome to the new term. And to Room 2, for some of you.

A fairly frantically busy day was had here today, to the point where I forgot to take any photos!

But we did capture Red Group's (all two of them!) sharing of their text today, Ten Little Men.


What a difference a modern camera makes! I was using one from the camera pod while the batteries for the Room 2 camera was charging. Now I can't wait 'till ours gets replaced!

Please note, the Air Force Museum trip has been postponed 'till Week 4.

Air Force Museum Trip Postponement

Good afternoon,

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the trip to the Air Force Museum has been postponed until the Thursday of Week 4. The 25th, I think it is. (I only work in week and day numbers!)

So it's school as normal this coming Thursday.
