Mrs O'Neill's Monday

Good afternoon,

Mrs O'Neill was in the room today while I took many, many, many running records (40 of the blessed things, the results thereof are very encouraging!)...and she had a great day with a bit of reading...

...some R.E....

...and finishing the day with another crack at Mahunga Pakihiwi Puke Hope Waewae...

And a great time was had by all.

Pray for a fine day tomorrow so that we can have our long awaited for Athletics day. Please bring...

  • A house colour tee shirt

  • Some sunscreen

  • A hat

  • and P.E. gear, which you'd be wearing anyway, seeing as tomorrow's Tuesday

Oh, and I forgot to mention in the newsletter that Friday is School Photo Day.

CU in the morning,

Mr Grant

...and a bit of a run...

...we drew cartoons for Art. Specifically Galoop...

...and Larry the Cucumber from Vegie Tales.

And a good time was had by all.

Have a great weekend,

Mr Grant

Te Tinana Thursday

Good afternoon,

A rather noisy day was had here in Room 2 today.

As part of the chaos, we learnt the Maori names for parts of the body through song.

Hmmm, we've still got a bit of work to do there!

Your children were sent home with a number of pieces of paper this afternoon.
  1. The first couple concerns our current R.E. topic - the Communion of Saints. Please have it back by early next week.

  2. The second couple of pieces concern our Body Growth and Change topic. Please fill in the milestone chart and bring it back with a photo of the child when they were a baby.

  3. The third collection (of one piece of paper) concerns our upcoming swimming lessons in Weeks 5 and 6. Please fill out the swimming assessment sheets and return them to school as quick a possible, so we can ability group the children before they start. Any fine tuning will then be done at the pool by the instructors.

I think that's about it.

Have a great evening,

Mr Grant

Oh yes, and Green House - please remember that it's Green House mufti day tomorrow...

No Photos, Two Tests Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Another busy busy day here in Room 2. So much so that I kinda forgot to bring out the camera!

Still, not to worry, those of you who are hungering for some digital content concerning what we actually got up to today, never fear! We had a Communion of Saints pre test, and, 20 minutes later, a Body Growth and Change pre test as we gear up for, well, a Communion of Saints R.E. unit and a Body Growth and Change Health unit.

Oh yeah, and White Reading group read, listened, and read along with The Wild Wet Wellington Wind.

Your child received a notice as they left the room today to explain that there will be no J or M Team Athletics day tomorrow or Friday, as the weather forecast just ain't plain warm enough. The A Team will be having their athletics events tomorrow, however, as Mr Atherton needs to send off the names of those who will be competing on behalf of OLA in the Zones competitions.

We'll have our Athletics Day some next week, when the children are less likely to freeze their buts off hanging around waiting for their turn.

Cu tomorrow,

Mr Grant

Back to School Tuesday

Good afternoon,

And welcome back to school.

We kicked off today with a visit from Catherine, the young lass who went over to central Asia to spread the Gospel. She showed us some great pictures of the people she met, and how to dance like the locals.

In the afternoon the whole J Team popped out to practice to sprints in year groups...and staying in their lanes!

Then it was turn to run as a class.

And a good time was had by all!

CU tomorrow,

Galoop Feeds the Ducks

Good afternoon,

And a lovely afternoon it is too. So much so that Galoop wanted to go to feed the ducks down by the University.

And so off he went!

Who did we meet there, but Sophia and her family!

Then Galoop hopped down to the river's edge and threw some bread into the water.

Yum, yum, yum!

After all the bread had been used up, we went home. And a good time was had by all!

Fun Day Friday

Good afternoon,

Again,

After our Black Out start, we carried on with our day.

A bit of Maori - Te Taniwha Me Te Poraka - The Taniwha and the Frog. You can access a glossary here.

After morning tea, it was art - time to finish Puff the Magic Dragon.

After lunch, we had a bit of a performance assembly. I only remembered that I had the camera in my shirt pocket half way through!

(That one is actually from Mr Atherton!)

Didn't they do well?!

And that, apart from a game of tag, was Term 3.

Enjoy the holidays, and I'll see you all again on Tuesday the 25th of October.

Mr Grant

Black Out Day

Good afternoon,

Well, today was really fun! Black out day!
