A Galoop Impersonator...

...or, more likely, a much younger cousin!

Galoop is much older, wiser...and has only got one eye!

Thanks for the pickie,

Mr Grant

P.S. Does anyone feel up to sewing on an eye patch?

Galoop At Adrenaline Forest

Good afternoon,

Galoop and I are just back from an exhilarating time out at Adrenaline Forest with Mr Atherton and Mr Shae.

We tried to get him a harness, but we couldn't find one that fitted, so he wore a carabiner around his neck instead!

Which was quite handy, as he could then enjoy the view from Mr Grant's belt!

First up, some low ropes...

...and a flying fox.

Then we went up a little higher, doing stuff that was a little harder...

...and higher, and harder...

...and then really high, and really hard!

'Till finally the climbing stopped and we got a couple of quick flying fox rides back to the ground. Whew!

Somewhere along the way, Galoop lost his 'false' eye!

(That last one, path 6, that was pretty full on. 20 metres up is, well, along way down!)

And a good time was had by all.

CU Monday,

Mr Grant

End of Term Friday

Good afternoon,

And have a great holiday!

After an early start, the day began in a rather casual way.

Later this morning, Mrs Clapp came bursting in with wonderful ideas of how to create a huuugggggeeee Puff the Magic Dragon for the back wall.

Thanks Sarah for the wonderful ideas and enthusiasm.

Then off to the library we went.

After assembly, Room 2 suddenly grew by six children!

Welcome to Room 2 guys!

CU in August (!),

Good afternoon,

Another busy busy day was spent here at school, but isn't it nice to see the sun?

(Not that it was not nice to be at school, but, you know...)

We did a bit of fitness...

...had an RE test and read a quite well known wee ditty.

And 20 odd years later, dispelling some urban legends...

We'll be looking at that again tomorrow. Dragon art. Yay!

Don't forget that tomorrow is our annual mufti-mid-winter-breakfast - bring your own mug for hot drinks and a gold coin donation.

CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant

A Flat Out Couple of Days

Good afternoon,

Sorry for no post last night, it was a kind of full on day. In fact, as far as the teaching and learning went, you blinked, you missed it.

Could have done without that earthquake during reading though...

As for today, much of a muchness really, 'cept no aftershock, with a quick J Team Singing session thrown in.

During Reading, Red Group shared today's Text All Join In...

...to a wrapped audience!

CU tomorrow. Or perhaps not. I've not been feeling well, as many may have gathered. (cough)(cough)

Spontaneous-Button-Box-Reprise Thursday

Good afternoon,

This afternoon, the J and M Teams trotted over to the hall...

...to sit down...

...to catch a sneak preview of The Button Box DVD.

At the beginning of the last song, the whole hall burst into song!

And a good time was had by all!

Don't forget your library books for tomorrow.

Bye,

Mr Grant

Acrostic Wednesday

Good evening,

This afternoon we once again discussed how we can respond to the Holy Spirit, and we came up with an acrostic prayer...

After R.E., Room 2 got busy with their handwriting portfolio samples.

Hence blowing off steam on the playground just before the end of the day.

CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant

Oh, and if your child came home with a great big green P on their hand, they need to get themselves a pen and/or a pencil and stop relying on Mr Grant to provide one!

Responsible Room 2 learners...hmmm... :-)

Games Day Tuesday

Good afternoon,

This morning, instead of writing, we played a couple of the new reading games that we have just got in the room.

The fun and games continued with some skipping...

...some J Team singing, and then some P.E. outside...

...with Room 8...

Right, to time to shuffle some paper.

Movie Day Monday

Good evening,

Another late post I know...meetings and such...

Anyway, no photos today, just a couple of clips.

First from reading. Blue Group (or at least, the half of Blue Group that was here today) share today's text, Grumpy Elephant.

After lunch, we continued our learning of the Holy Spirit, and decided that...

When I show love, I show the Holy Spirit.
Bye for now,

Mr Grant

Laid Back Friday

Good afternoon,

Sorry for the delay in my post, I've been, well, unwell...

Friday saw some of us at school bright and early...

...so, after some housekeeping and introducing a new question (and answer) in Maori...

...we watched a bit of a movie...

...did some skipping with Room 8...

...went to the library...

...and read a story called Nickerty, Nackerty, Noo, Noo, Noo.

CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant
