Funday Friday...

...again.

Good afternoon,

Another fun day was had at school. Again. (Hey, what's the point of coming if you don't enjoy it?!)

This morning, the children learnt how to ask, and answer, "What is your father's and mother's name?"


Before morning tea, we all Jump Jammed with the M Team.


Then, after morning tea...


(Guess what they were watching over morning tea. Go on, guess.)

...we started to count the beat...


...to which they counted the beat. "1, 2, 3, 4." So, we painted out fingers and counted with our fingers on the page.


Sorry if any of it got on their uniforms!

Motion Capture Thursday

Good afternoon,

Just a quick message to start with - the internet's down at school, so I'm at home updating the blog, but, well, I've left my transformer at school, and the battery on my laptop is pretty stink, so...we'll see how it goes!

For the first time this term, the whole J Team did fitness together, trying out a new routine of running long distance all together.


Then Green Reading Group went into the cloakroom to photograph today's book Ben's Teddy Bear, after which Blue Reading Group shared their book In a Dark, Dark Wood.


After lunch we learnt the differences between our clothes and Jesus' when he was a boy...



...before practicing using big expressions and big movements.


And that was the day.

Fun Day Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Another fun day was had again here today.

We did a bit of maths...


...where the children used cut outs of a gingerbread man to measure various items around the room






After lunch, we discussed the differences between Jesus' house when he was a boy and ours.


Then Room 1 came in for some instruction on three different elements of music, and some charades.






And a good time was had by all.

Mrs O'Neil was in the room today, had a fantastic time, as did the children, while I planned with the Production Team.

Back to School Monday

Good evening, and welcome to Term 2.

We had a few changes around this morning that saw more children pottering around in Room 2 for Maths, Writing and Reading.

First, for maths...



...we are learning how to figure out how to measure stuff. First up, we're confirming the distinction between big, small and the ordering between thereof.

Next up, we had a few more bods for writing, and, by extension, reading.


Which meant that fitness was a touch busier than last term. Though that may have had something to do with the scheduling conflict that we had with Room 11 - we both thought we were on running around the cones this morning!




When we got back inside, Red Group then popped outside and photographed today's book What Does Greedy Cat Like?

After a quick introduction to where Jesus lived when he was a child (which we will revisit on Wednesday), we learnt and practiced three different aspects of singing...


...using this wee choral piece.

I said a boom-chicka-boom.
I said boom-chicka-boom.
I said a book-chicka-rocka-chicka-rocka-chicka-boom.
Oh yeah.
Too cool.

Don't forget that Mrs O'Neil will be at the helm in the morning.
