People Friday

Good afternoon,

Thanks to some expert tuition by Mrs Clapp, Room 2 drew more people this morning...

...which, along with the world that they created last week, are now on display in the office. Check them out.

Prior to art, we popped outside for some fitness...

...and then, after art, we popped outside again for a game of Duck Duck Goose.

After lunch, half of Room 1 joined us...

...and we went off to assembly.

And a good time was had by all.

Have a great weekend,

Mr Grant

Oh yes, and we also drew visual representation for reasons why live on Earth and not another planet.

Mr Grant Shaves For A Cure

Good evening,

And very many thanks to all those who have supported me in this endeavor!

Mr Grant

No Handwriting Thursday

Good afternoon,

We had a couple of difference in our programmes today.

The first was due to the interesting developments to Room 12. The pouring of the concrete for the veranda...

...which kinda pushed fitness out of the morning, and, after lunch...

... and the RE [God] Post Test, those of us not involved in PMP went outside to run around the playground instead of handwriting!

(Sorry if I missed your child, they came down faster than the camera could click!)

Mrs Clapp is back with us tomorrow morning, and half of Room 1 will be joining us after lunch, so...

CU tomorrow.

Bald and shiny.

A Class of Angels

Good afternoon,

After a touch of writing...

...fitness, again with Room 11...

...and reading...

...we carried on Monday's discussion about God's messengers, angels. To follow up the discussion, the children coloured in this here thusly...

R.E. assessment tomorrow!

Mov'n 'n Shak'n Tuesday

Good afteroon,

Another wee tremor (no wonder we felt it - 'twas a just down the way...) sent us outside, again, just before lunch...

Prior to all this, the J Team were doing their own moving and shaking for fitness...

...and subsequent from it all, were again moving and shaking during our J Team singing.

To end the afternoon, we reviewed what we'll need to know for the R.E. assessment on Thursday...
  • What is God's Greatest Gift?

  • What is the Our Father about?
...and why we live on Earth and not another planet, to which we added another reason.

(They almost didn't get there!)

Oh yeah, and we also boggied to the Water Cycle Boogie. See the post below.

Bye for now,

The Water Cycle Boogie

Good evening,

Bronwyn has just pointed out this clip here.

Lyrics:
Chorus:
Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation
The water cycle boogie goes round and round
The water cycle boogie goes up and down

The sun gives the water cycle power to spin
The water goes up and down again
The surface of all water heats up with the sun
The vapor rises up and then the boogies begun
What's that called? What's that called?
EVAPORATION

Chorus

Water holds together chemically
Hydrogen bonding is what you see
All those airborne vapors they squeeze together
To form a cloud that could change the weather
What's that called? What's that called?
CONDENSATION

Chorus

All those dark clouds can't hold together
Water boogies down bringing stormy weather
Fog, rain, hail, flurries, ice and sleet
Splish, splash, and crunch underneath your feet
What's that called? What's that called?
PRECIPITATION

Chorus

Two thirds of the earth is water, it's true
Gives life to every plant and animal too
Respect water's power, only use your share
Don't waste a drop, there's none to spare
Let's do the water cycle boogie again,
Let's go for another spin!

Chorus
Seemed quite appropriate really. 'Cause that's one of the reasons we live here and not another planet in the solar system.

The Water Cycle In Action

Good afternoon,

This afternoon, thanks to a wee tremor, Room 2 experienced the water cycle first hand!

Frightfully incovenient, but good practice.

We came back inside, and then continued discussing the water cycle.

Earlier in the day, before it started raining, Room 2 readers joined Room 11 readers for a spot of fitness.

And a good time was had by all.

Mr Grant Shaves For A Cure...Perhaps...

Good evening,

Well, since I'm loosing it anyway, I've decided to go for broke - I'm joining Shave For A Cure to raise money for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation. But I need your help. Well, your money actually! Please check out my page...

http://www.shaveforacure.co.nz/view_event_profile/4586

...to donate to the cause. If we can raise $500.00, I'll come to school on Friday bald. (Well, balder than usual...) Tracy'll chop [what's left of] my locks with a razer using a number zero comb. $750, and I'll think of getting rid of the goatee as well...

In the meantime, CU tomorrow,

Mr Grant

Please have a look.

Cheers,

Nick Grant
