Good Idea Monday

Good afternoon,

This morning as part of our Big Book lesson (this morning focusing on decoding strategies) we read A Good Idea.

Speaking of good ideas, this afternoon, we made our own Christmas cards thusly.

Bye for now,

Play Ball Tuesday

Good afternoon,

We swam...

...we played ball...

...and we sang...

And Mary said, "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour".

Luke 1: 46-47

Where Monday

Good afternoon,

And a glorious afternoon it is too.

Today, after swimming...

...we started a new Geometry unit focusing on position. To start with, we read Hairy MacClary Scattercat, discussed how to describe where the cats were...

(fair to say, not my neatest work!)

...and then the children acted out parts of the book, describing where they were relative to the characters' surroundings.

After lunch Blue Group shared their text Secret Soup...

...and we discussed Mary's response to the Annunciation, which in turn became a discussion as to why we give gifts at Christmas.

Annunciation Thursday

Well, not, like, the real Annunciation. We just learnt about it...

Good afternoon,

This afternoon we learnt about the Annunciation, through discussion, colouring...

...and re-enacting.

Of course, earlier in the day we popped down to Kings for the fourth (of ten) swimming lesson.

Digital Tuesday

Good afternoon,

Lots and lots of digital image capture here in and around Room 2 today.

First on the way and at the pool...

...then Room 2 went a hunting around the place for geometric shapes...

Not so sure about the music...By the way, what's this shape?

After lunch Red Group acted out March Along with Me and the White Group shared Number One with us...

We finished the day with some more insights concerning the Advent Wreath.

Back to the pool in the morning!

Swimming in the Wet

Good afternoon.

Least, it is, almost, now. Boy was it wet this morning!

On the way, on the bus...

And when we got there...

After lunch...

...we discussed the meanings behind and what the circle of an Advent Wreath, and the colour of the Advent Wreath actually symbolised.

Back to the pool in the morning. Please come to school in the school uniform with togs underneath.

Download Thursday

Good afternoon,

This morning, Blue Group went outside and digitized their book for today Baby Bear's Hiding Place. This is their own work (I was busy taking another group), and all I can say is well, jolly done! I think they captured the story brilliantly!

And so to a very testing time this afternoon. Two, count 'em two, summative assessments! First up, The Communion of Saints post test, and then the Body Growth and Change post test. Many thanks to the parents who were able to come in to help, 'twas much appreciated.

Your children should have brought this home this evening. Our swimming timetable for next week.

Feel free to come along to help get 'em changed and such if you can.

Saints' Day Monday...

...not to be confused with All Saints' Day, which is something quite different...

Good afternoon,

This afternoon, Room 2 demonstrated some actions to go along with the Fruit of the Spirit (the demonstration of which is what makes a Saint a saint)...

As it happened, Green Reading Group shared a story with us this morning where it could be said that the secondary (and primary, for that matter) characters displayed Kindness and Goodness...with one very notable exception...

Something to ponder on...
