Treaty Friday

Good afternoon,

This morning kicked off with me out of the room for some unscheduled Class Room Release Time to do some Running Records. Thankfully Kate Rooney (she was teaching Room 9 last year) was able to step in before she steps off to foreign shores in a couple of weeks.

Just before lunch, Room 2 had their very own treaty signing ceremony...

Thank you to those who were able to come along, and thanks Lysa for holding down the treaty as the children signed it - I hadn't really figured on the wind!

After assembly we pretty much finished the day in the pool with Rooms 1 and 8.

And a good time was had by all.

I'm taking home the boys this weekend so's they can say goodbye to Mum before she hops back over the ditch, but I'll work on a rat roster over the weekend. If you haven't expressed interest in bringing them home for the odd weekend, please let me know.

Enjoy your weekend,

Mr Grant

A Busy Thursday

Good afternoon,

It was nice to meet those who came to the 3:30 meeting this afternoon, I am looking forward to the open air liturgy and the second meeting at 6.

Other than that, and the jolt we've just had, nothing much else to report. Indeed, we've been so busy that I only remembered to take photos after lunch! Specifically, practicing for the Triathlon.

CU later then,

Karakia Wednesday

Good afternoon,

Another busy day was had here in Room 2.

Thankfully, Mr A was there to help us out...

Practice it at home!

Later in the day, as well as having a new visitor hang around outside the room for lunch...I hoped she signed in at the office...

...the children practiced their running for the triathlon.

Only a couple of weeks to go...and no, we didn't go swimming today...

See you tomorrow for the Meet the Teacher meetings, and the open air liturgy,

Mr Grant

Fine Day Tuesday

Good afternoon,

And a lovely afternoon it is too. Indeed...

This was right after the children had their first run around the field in preparation for the Triathlon.

Which reminds me, please send your children to school each day from now on with their sports shoes - we need to practice transitioning from shoe'd to bare feet after the run. If they've only got laced shoes, it'd be dead handy if they could tie their own shoes! :-)

Earlier, during R.E., the children completed a worksheet about where people can pray.

(Mind you, the children can answer that question in just one word Anywhere!

We are also learning our Room 2 Rulz! song, so's we can be ready to sing it to you on Friday afternoon during our Treaty signing ceremony. (12:15 p.m., and then stay for lunch!)

Feel free to sing along at home!

Bye for now,

Mr Grant

Wet Day Monday

Good afternoon,

The weather is a bit of a contrast today from yesterday, eh?

Indeed, we had our first indoor lunch, complete with the story of Esther as told by Vegi Tales.

Speaking of yesterday, it was my son's birthday yesterday, so, of course, I had the children send him a message!

Later in the day the children also expressed their understanding of where people could pray.

Anywhere!

Funnily enough, we didn't go swimming this afternoon, but we did have a good sing song with Rooms 8 and 11. I am happy to report that it was decided that Room 2 was the best at singing Galoop!

Towards the end of the day we read a little more of Brave Mama Puss. Poor Papa Puss got interrogated by the robot rats, a bit like this...

I hope tomorrow's weather will allow us back in the pool...

Room 2 Newsletter for Term 1, Week 2

Good morning,

Here the Room 2 Newsletter for Term 1, Week 2.

Things to note - meet the teacher on Thursday (3:30 and again @ 5:45), and our Room 2 Class Treaty Signing Ceremony @ 12:15, Friday. Please stay for lunch with your children.

Oh, and one notice that I forgot to send out yesterday...

SCHOOL LUNCHES - HELP NEEDED

Due to our current fantastic helpers going back to work the PTA require assistance with the Wednesday morning lunch order collation. We also require extra helpers for preparing the lunches later in the morning. As it stands, we run a real risk of not being able to provide the school lunch service to our students.

Please, if you can help, contact Donna Elliott or Jussy Sullivan or call into the office and leave a message. We are hoping to get a few helpers so the work load can be distributed.

Have a great rest of the weekend,

Mr Grant
