Good afternoon,
Another busy busy day was spent here at school, but isn't it nice to see the sun?
(Not that it was not nice to be at school, but, you know...)
We did a bit of fitness...

...had an RE test and read a quite well known wee ditty.
And 20 odd years later, dispelling some urban legends...
We'll be looking at that again tomorrow. Dragon art. Yay!
Don't forget that tomorrow is our annual mufti-mid-winter-breakfast - bring your own mug for hot drinks and a gold coin donation.
CU tomorrow,
Mr Grant

Games that teach beat
Good afternoon,
Just looking at what we're going to be doing during our topic lessons this week, and I have found this. It'll be a challenge...
I have added it to the topic links list on the right of the screen.

No Handwriting Thursday
Good afternoon,
We had a couple of difference in our programmes today.
The first was due to the interesting developments to Room 12. The pouring of the concrete for the veranda...

...which kinda pushed fitness out of the morning, and, after lunch...

... and the RE [God] Post Test, those of us not involved in PMP went outside to run around the playground instead of handwriting!

(Sorry if I missed your child, they came down faster than the camera could click!)
Mrs Clapp is back with us tomorrow morning, and half of Room 1 will be joining us after lunch, so...
CU tomorrow.
Bald and shiny.

The Water Cycle In Action
Good afternoon,
This afternoon, thanks to a wee tremor, Room 2 experienced the water cycle first hand!

Frightfully incovenient, but good practice.
We came back inside, and then continued discussing the water cycle.
Earlier in the day, before it started raining, Room 2 readers joined Room 11 readers for a spot of fitness.

And a good time was had by all.
Don't forget to check out my Shave for a Cure page - http://www.shaveforacure.co.nz/view_event_profile/4586.
Bye for now,
Mr Grant

Another Wet Wednesday
Good afternoon,
'Twas raining on and off this morning, so we had some Jump Jam 'stead of running...

...and an inside lunch (though they played outside afterwards).

After lunch we discussed again the Our Father prayer.
Take note, there will be test later on.
We also talked about the atmospheres on Mars and Jupiter.

Bye for now,
Mr Grant

The Our Father Prayer is...
- Talking to God
- Behave on Earth like you would in Heaven
- Forgive others like God forgave us
Take note, there will be test later on.
We also talked about the atmospheres on Mars and Jupiter.

Few Photos Monday
Good afternoon,
Another start to a busy week. So much so, that I forgot to take any photos other than these...

...as we did Jump Jam next door!
Which is a pity really, as we did a pretty cool experiment...
Cool Experiments:
How To Put Out A Candle Without Blowing It
...to explain why we can't live on Venus.

All good fun!

OLA Parents Wiki
Good evening,
Jo Earl has set up a Wiki for the OLA School Community.
And here it is. http://olaparents.wikispaces.com/Making+Connections They are another way to keep in touch with what's going on at school, but more importantly, its a way for parents to get in touch with each other. Short of dishing out everybody's phone number. Which we won't do.
Well, back to thinking what to do for the rest of the week...
